What Happened to Breena Palmer on NCIS? Her connection with Dr. Jimmy Palmer, a medical examiner, was short, and viewers will not see them together onscreen again.
Fans of the iconic CBS procedural drama “NCIS” have had to endure the deaths of countless characters as performers have departed the program over the years, each one more tragic than the previous. There was, however, one off-screen death that alluded to the massive losses many people have had in real life across the country and around the world.
The lovely connection between the team’s medical examiner, Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and his wife, Breena (Michelle Pierce), was short-lived, and viewers won’t be seeing them together onscreen again.
What Happened To Breena Palmer On NCIS?
It was fascinating to watch how different shows handled the COVID-19 epidemic while it was at its peak. They dug straight into it on “Grey’s Anatomy,” showing every precaution and the profound loss and stress felt by the medical community onscreen. Meredith was even put on COVID and spent much of Season 17 in a coma.
We saw Maks on “NCIS,” but they used a more subtle approach because the program isn’t situated in a hospital. Breena’s death was kept off-screen by the writers of “NCIS,” with viewers deducing her death from Jimmy’s behavior.
The Death of Dr. Jimmy Palmer Wife
In an interview with ET, Dietzen clarified that his character’s wife on NCIS died from COVID-19.
While the audience isn’t shown what happened to Breena, her death is acknowledged when Jimmy thanks Elenor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) for the team’s support after his wife’s death.
Why Breena Palmer Is Leaving?
Michelle Pierce, who played Breena on “NCIS,” recently left the show. However, some viewers may be curious as to why she left. Jimmy’s wife, Breena, has only appeared in a few episodes throughout the seasons. She appeared in five more episodes after being introduced as his girlfriend in season seven. On the show, marriage and the birth of their daughter Victoria were two of their big life events.
As a result, her departure from the show in season 18, episode seven, was unexpected. The most recent installment jumps ahead many months to reflect current COVID-19 events. According to actor Dietzen, the decision was based on a plot option.
