Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s UCLA supervisor, Dr. Carol Mangione, was in denial in making him Florida’s surgeon general. 

He is an American physician currently serving as the surgeon general of Florida.

Moreover, he is also a full-time professor at the University of Florida. The institution pays him a salary of about $26 thousand per year but hasn’t assigned him to teach or treat patients.

Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s wife is a health and wellness coach.

Her Linkedin page describes her as a highly creative and dynamic Communications Professional. Likewise, she has over a decade and a half years of experience in the related field.

Brianna completed her undergraduate education in 2003 as an English Literature major at the University of California, Davis. Eight years later, she completed her masters’ in Liberal Arts, English, and American Literature and Language, from Harvard University.

As for her professional career, Brianna began at Harvard Medical School (Assistant Director of Annual GivingAssistant) in July 2006. After that, she was the Director of Communications, Department of Population Health at the NYU School of Medicine for three years, beginning in 2011.

And at present, Brianna works as the Certified NIA Instructor, Health and Wellness Coach, Wellness Practitioner, and Director of East Coast Promotions.

Besides her educational qualifications and professional career, she is also on the social media platform Facebook.

In 2016, Dr. Joseph discussed his wife’s suffering from a chronic and debilitating illness, which taught him the lessons about surviving the American healthcare system.

The couple has three children.

What Did Dr Joseph Ladapo Supervisor Say?

Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s supervisor at UCLA asked Florida not to hire him, insinuating a background check on him.

The Florida Senate asked for a background check before making him the next state surgeon general and secretary of the Department of Health.

Reportedly, Dr. Carol Mangione gave mixed answers to the questions on an employment verification form. She refused to rehire the surgeon. Moreover, she said yes to any derogatory information she knew about the candidate, emphasizing the media had covered most of it.

And when asked whether she would recommend him as the next surgeon general of Florida and was confident in his ability, honesty, and integrity to perform related duties, her answer was no.

Dr. Carol thinks that Joseph makes policy decisions and recommendations based on his opinions rather than the best scientific evidence.

Additionally, she addressed his opinions that popular media outlets published about the Covid-19 pandemic caused many of his colleagues and subordinates to feel that he violated the Hippocratic Oath, which physicians do not harm.

However, Joseph’s former supervisor from NYU, Dr. R. Scott Braithwaite, spoke in his favor. Likewise, there weren’t any discipline/complaints about his expired medical licenses in New York or California.

Similarly, the status of his medical doctor license from the Florida Department of Health, which will expire on 31 January 2024, is clear. Further, he doesn’t have any complaints.
